Helpless to Help

A friend of mine is trying to leave an abusive relationship. The thing is - you can't TRY to do anything, you have to do it or not do it. I am praying for her to leave because her boyfriend has all of the signs.

Purpose of this blog:

I believe that education and awareness are often the first step to change. Since we are not formally educated on this topic I am here to share my personal experience as a victim, plus, all I learned during training to become a Sexual Assault Victim Advocate.

Its not a comfortable topic, but an important one. I share stories from my life and many from my local paper in Orange County, California to illustrate how prevalent this problem is. Its in your area too. Its happening worldwide.

In order to take steps to protect ourselves and especially our children, we need to LOOK AT IT. We can make a difference.
